shielded/grounded individual signal pins on 2.0mm x
2.0mm footprint; and no soldering is required to
attach connector to printed circuit board, as the
male and right angle female connectors incorporate
compression surface mount for ground connections
and press-fit technology for signal contacts. These
connectors are designed to be installed after all
surface mount components have been placed on the
printed circuit board.

"Convergent Connector
Technology" compresses components drastically by
integrating various new manufacturing technologies
that were not previously available or used in
current connector designs. Performance (depending
on application) of the five row, sixty pin
connector is predicted to be up to 3 GHz. Total
installed cost of the FX-2c high performance
connector will be lower than existing large, bulky,
coaxial connector designs. This connector system is
anticipated to take high speed interconnect
technology into the 21st Century and
beyond.
